I went to watch a play called "To kill a mocking bird" At the drama centre in the national library last Sunday. A mocking bird is basically a kind of bird which sings for the pleasure of itself and others that mean no harm.
I learnt that the play was trying to teach we not to judge a person his or her appearance as no matter how a person may look like, it wouldn't show if the person was good or bad. The book, 'To kill a mocking bird' was written in the 1900s and America still had the problems of white people against black people and the book showed the problem.
In the play, A guy called Tom Robinson (, black) raped Mayella Violet Ewell (, white). Though Atticus Finch, the father of Jem and Scout, as well as a famous lawyer could convince the people that Tom Robinson was the innocent party, the jury that consisted of white people, declared him guilty of raping Mayella Violet Ewell, which proves that most people were racist. Knowing that he would die anyway, Tom Robinson tried escaping from his prison cell and got shot by 6 guns and died. And all that misunderstanding was caused by Tom Robinson trying to help Mayella Violet Ewell, the "victim" to do some chores that she couldn't handle. And instead of being grateful, they accused him of raping her.
Another person would was thought to be a bad guy was Boo Radley. He was rumored to have been doing evil things like stabbing his father in the thigh with a siccors. But he tried making friends with the children by leaving gum and coins in a tree outside his house and saved Jem and Scout from being killed in the forest.
I found the play rather confusing when i was watching it. But after listening to the summary of the play in class, it became much clearer. I've learnt much from this play and i really want to watch more plays or skits like that in future.

I guess it would be the people around me. Cause as humans, we're quite easily influenced and even easier when we're just teenagers. It mostly consist of my school friends. I see them almost every single day and i think I've unconsciously become slightly like them. Teachers would also be one reason for what I've become so far. When teachers teach, they'll have their way of thinking, and tend to say it many times. After listening to something over and over again, i would often get influenced.
